Writing WA has a state-wide responsibility to support the writing and reading culture of Western Australia and the scope of our activities in regional WA over the past 15 years has been considerable. We have provided children’s book illustration workshops to Indigenous artists in the Kimberley; provided mentoring to emerging regional writers through the Writing WA Awards; invested in author talks in libraries and other cultural organisations throughout the state; and produced more than 30 episodes of the Cover to Cover author interview program for broadcast to regional communities via satellite television.

Most significantly we have provided strategic, practical and financial support to a range of established and emerging regional writers festivals, supporting engagement with writing and reading in communities from Denmark and Albany in the south, to Margaret River, Geraldton, Karratha, Broome and Kununurra.

We welcome interest in our regional programs from the private and corporate sectors.  If you would like to discuss a potential alignment with one of our programs, please contact Writing WA’s CEO, Sharon Flindell, T: 08.9228 9908 or E: ceo[at]writingwa.org
