Todhunter Literary Award 2010

We Invite you to participate in the 2010 Todhunter Literary Award.

Your entry may be written in the form of a short story, or as an essay like a well written newspaper
article, or as a one act play with a small cast and some doubling up.

There is a choice of topic:

"So relieved, but it was only a reprieve"

OR :

"The Best Address"

3000 to 5000 words are required.

Entry fee AUD $20.00
Judges' comments AUD $60.00
(includes entry fee)

The judge will be Associate Professor Delys Bird, Senior Honorary Research Fellow, English, Communication and Cultural Studies, University of Western Australia, a long-time co-editor of Westerly,
one of Australia s leading literary journals who has published widely in Australian literary and
cultural studies. The judge will be looking for literary quality above all.

1st PRIZE - $ 2,000
The Leslie Marchant Prize
Established in 2006 in order to honour the life
and service of Leslie R Marchant AM, the
inaugural judge (1994-2002) of the Todhunter
Literary Award.

2nd PRIZE - $ 1,200
The John Joseph Jones Prize
In recognition of Joseph Jones literary, dramatic
and musical contribution to Western Australia
and his remarkable achievement in creating the
Parkerville Amphitheatre.

3rd PRIZE - $800
Total PRIZE MONEY AWARDED - $ 4,000
If two entries are judged to be of equal literary
value, an appropriate redistribution will be made.

Deadline for entries is Wed 4 August, 2010.
